We have a team of Medical Receptionists who are trained to assist patients. Reception staff attend to patients on the phone and in person. They coordinate and organise appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the Practice, and support delivery of quality patient care. The Reception Staff have a very demanding role. They are there to assist you and we would ask you to be patient during peak times, when the staff have to handle a large volume of calls and enquires. They will ask you a small amount of personal information about your medical condition – this information is used to ensure your call is dealt with by the correct Clinician and assist fellow Healthcare Professionals who work within the Practice to manage your healthcare and well-being. All staff adhere to the Practice’s Confidentiality Policy and Data Protection Act 2018. All our receptionists are trained chaperone's who are available to assist when clinical staff carry out intimate examinations - please express your wishes if you would like one present. Zero Tolerance The NHS operate a zero tolerance policy with regard to violence and abuse, and the Practice has the right to remove violent patients from their list with immediate effect. This is in order to safeguard Practice staff, patients and other persons. Violence in this context includes actual or threatened physical violence or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a person’s safety. In this situation we will notify the patient in writing of their removal from the list and record in the patient’s medical records the fact of the removal and the circumstances leading to it.
